OSGE team in the GEH Training Centre in San Jose

This week, part of our team received training on the BWRX-300 reactor at the GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Training Centre in San Jose, California.

Another group of OSGE employees completed training organised by GE Hitachi. The course focuses on plant design and operation, while also providing an overview of systems, components, and procedures to be followed in nuclear power plants with BWR reactors.

The training consists of theoretical lectures given by GEH experts and practitioners with experience, but also includes tours and reactor maintenance and refueling training at refueling and maintenance facility. Part of training is provided at full-scale reactor and component mock-up. This makes, that such a course is not only theory, but also practice, including a ‘tour’ to the heart of each reactor – a reactor pressure vessel (RPV).
