OSGE has signed a cooperation agreement with War Studies University – a military university which mission is to educate personnel responsible for state security and to support the national security and defence system.
The cooperation will include War Studies University (Akademia Sztuki Wojennej) support in preparing the workforce necessary for the construction and operation in Poland of a fleet of reactors from GE Vernova Hitachi, as well as activities in the areas of education and public awareness about small modular reactors and nuclear energy.
“The War Studies University’s willingness to become involved in our SMR development program shows that their deployment is a matter of national security not only in the energy area. We are pleased that a key institution within the country’s security system recognizes our activities and sees areas for potential cooperation and support,” said Bartosz Fijałkowski, Vice President of the Management Board of OSGE, during the signing.
“Today we meet with the strong belief that we have found common ground in our efforts. On behalf of the War Studies University, I guarantee full openness and full support for OSGE’s activities, to the extent that we are able to provide. This is a new quality for the functioning of the University and a new quality for the security and defence of our country,” said the Rector of the War Studies University, General (ret.) Mieczysław Gocuł, PhD.
The agreement was signed at the university’s headquarters in Warsaw’s Rembertów district by the Rector of the War Studies University, General (ret.) Mieczysław Gocuł (PhD) and members of the OSGE Management Board: Bartosz Fijałkowski and Rafał Burda.
